RI Childrens's Golf Course, originally a Semi-Private, 9 hole golf course named Washington Village Golf Club, is now a 6-hole golf course located in Coventry, Rhode Island.
The course first opened for play in 1966. The golf course was designed by Dick Hopkins.
The course was built on mostly hilly terrain with sand bunkers throughout its design. In addition, water hazards come into play on three holes of the nine holes. The golf course originally played to a 9-hole par of 33 and maximum 9-hole distance of 2,525 yards.
Washington Village Golf Course closed operations in 2009.
The course was resurrected and reopened in 2014 as RI Children's Golf Course. The course is now a 6-hole course.
ADULTS ARE WELCOME, the course is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public golf course open to players of all ages in order to benefit Junior golf and our youth instructional programs
